PAPER ART

In Bali, you can find beautiful natural papers, such as banana paper. I saw it as a challenge to create a kimono using this material. I used origami techniques to form the back of the kimono. The kimono was decorated with paper flowers. The second kimono was made using Himalayan paper. The flowers on this kimono are a composition of a combination of paper and fabric.

I love making kimonos. Drawing them of making them out of paper. Real kimonos absolutely wonderful, of course. 

I used the origami technique to fold the kimono. The kimonos are made from washi paper. For the decorations on the kimonos I used coloured paper. For the black obi I used plant fiber paper.
